The Met Office has issued weather warnings in the UK today with worries that fog could cause severe traffic problems across the country.
They added that there is an increased chance of accidents and injuries as a result of freezing fog.
Visibility could drop as low as 50m in parts of England.
Temperatures today will remain sub-zero, reaching highs of only 5C in parts.
The Met Office explained that temperatures would be lower in the South because of a change in wind direction in the North West.
The Arctic blast that hit the UK this week will give way to warmer air from the Atlantic, but will take longer to reach southern areas.
The Met Office said: “Areas of freezing fog are expected to develop on Saturday night, dense in places and perhaps slow to clear on Sunday.
“Visibility as low as 50 to 100 metres could be encountered in a few areas and some untreated surfaces could turn icy, this combination meaning potentially difficult driving conditions.”
They advised people to avoid travel if possible and drive very slowly as fog can “give the illusion of moving in slow motion”.
Sadiq Khan has also issued an air pollution alert in London.

The London Mayor explained that the fog is causing poor dispersion of of vehicle emissions in the capital.
He said: “On Sunday, alongside the extreme cold temperatures we’ve been experiencing, we are also expecting moderate to high levels of air pollution.
“We all need to be careful over the next few days.
“I’m urging Londoners to look after each other by choosing to walk, cycle or take public transport, avoiding unnecessary car journeys, stopping engine idling and not burning wood or garden waste, all of which contributes to high levels of pollution.
“This is particularly important in order to protect those who are more vulnerable to high pollution.”
