Tom stepped in for Eamonn after his flight was delayed due to the storm

Eamonn Holmes was late for his usual GB News Breakfast show this morning, forcing Tom Harwood to step in and cover in his absence.

Storm Kathleen swept through the country over the weekend causing severe delays to transport and commuters were warned that journey times may be elongated and cancellations are possible.Eamonn was one of those affected and when he appeared on his usual show at 7:15 this morning to take over from fellow host Tom Harwood he said: "I should have run the length of Britain.

"Tom thanks for coming, it is good to see you, I'm glad that you could come in and hail the fort this morning."

When asked what happened, Eamonn explained: "I was at the airport by 11am yesterday morning. I didn't get home till half 11 last night.

"It was just one of those things, the weather situation. A lot of people would be through it. And the further north you were, you were more likely to be affected. So Edinburgh, Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, nightmare they were all affected by it."

He then jokingly yanked Tom on the arm and told him to "get out" of his seat next to Isabel so he could present the show.

He then got in his seat to take the reigns back of the show.
