The Morocco international is poised to move to Old Trafford

Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina on Friday.

The Red Devils have finally agreed a deal with their Serie A counterparts, with the Morocco international due to arrive on loan.

Providing Amrabat shines at Old Trafford, United will then sign the 27-year-old on a permanent basis for a fee of £21million at the end of the season.

It's a major coup for Erik ten Hag, who needs Amrabat to marshal a midfield that has been underwhelming so far this season.

And he won't be United's last signing, either.

That's because the club are due to tie Jonny Evans down to a one-year contract, with the Northern Ireland international currently a free agent.

Evans was previously a useful squad player for Sir Alex Ferguson during the Scot's glittering spell in the dugout.

United offered the former Leicester and West Brom star the chance to train with the side over the summer.

Ten Hag was impressed by what he saw, with Evans now set for a second stint in Manchester as a result.

With the 35-year-old without a side, United are able to sign Evans at any point - including after the transfer window shuts.

A deal could be announced on Friday but, with the club preoccupied with Amrabat, it's possible an announcement will be made at a later date.

United would bring Evans in to compete with the likes of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof for a starting spot.

Maguire had previously been expected to leave the club amid strong interest from Premier League rivals West Ham.

But the 30-year-old will instead remain at Old Trafford, with Ten Hag confirming that during his press conference on Friday.

United have had a busy summer - and transfer deadline day.

They moved with speed to recruit Mason Mount from Chelsea once it became clear the England international wouldn't be staying at Stamford Bridge.

United then proceeded to snap up Andre Onana, with the Cameroon international replacing club legend David De Gea between the sticks.

After that, the Red Devils landed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

Earlier on deadline day, United confirmed the signing of Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce in a deal worth £4.3 million.

And Ten Hag, speaking ahead of United's Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday, confirmed Sergio Reguilon had joined from Tottenham.

“He is here, yes,” he said.

“He is very experienced player, he has played for big clubs and played a lot of games in La Liga and the Premier League so has a very good background.

"So he can play very intense football so we are happy.
