Tottenham Hotspur have issued a strong statement condemning racist abuse directed at Mathys Tel after their defeat in the UEFA Super Cup final last night.
Spurs had been 2-0 up before Paris Saint-Germain fought back, taking the match to penalties and eventually winning the shootout.
Tel, who came off the bench in the 79th minute to replace Mohammed Kudus, was one of two Tottenham players to miss from the spot, with Micky van de Ven - scorer of the game’s opening goal - missing just before him.
