The 50-year-old denies allegations of inappropriate behaviour

Christian Horner is seen as 'snobby' by 'quite a lot of people', according to reports.

The Red Bull chief is currently in the spotlight amid allegations of inappropriate behaviour, which the 50-year-old strongly denies.

Horner is the longest-serving team principal currently in F1, having been working in his role for the past 19 years.

The Briton is hoping to clear his name, while Red Bull want the matter resolved in the next fortnight as the start of the new Formula One season creeps closer.

According to the Daily Mail, however, Horner isn't universally popular.

A source is quoted as saying that Horner has enemies, with some believing the 50-year-old to be 'rather snobby' and money-orientated.

"There are quite a lot of people who aren’t that fond of Christian," the insider reportedly said.

"They think he is rather snobby and talks an awful lot about money, but as far as she [wife Geri Halliwell] is concerned the guy walks on water."

Horner's wife, Geri Halliwell, is reportedly standing by the Red Bull chief as he fights to clear his name.

A hearing will be held on Friday, with Horner set to speak to a lawyer as part of Red Bull's investigation.

According to The Sun, the investigation is 'set to centre on a female employee’s concerns about Horner’s strict work regime'.

A source is quoted as telling the publication that Horner was unhappy with the staff member - which led to the allegation of 'controlling behaviour'.

“Christian had concerns about her conduct and made it clear he was unhappy," they said.

“She went on to make a complaint about his ‘controlling’ behaviour, which detonated this crisis for the team.”

Some believe the scandal is an attempt to destabilise Horner.

And that's despite the 50-year-old making Red Bull the most dominant team in F1 at the current moment in time.

Sebastian Vettel won four titles while racing under Horner between 2010 and 2013.

And the Red Bull chief has also played a key role in Max Verstappen's development, too, with the 26-year-old very much the man to beat.

Verstappen has won the past three F1 titles.

He's the strong favourite to secure another crown in 2024, too.

Williams Team Principal James Vowles, meanwhile, was asked about the allegations against Horner on Tuesday.

And Vowles was coy when quizzed, insisting Williams will always take similar allegations seriously if his side ever find themselves in the same situation.

“These allegations are allegations,” he told Bloomberg.

“I'm afraid I don't have any understanding of what is behind them and the significance of what has happened.

“All I can say [is] that should this ever happen in our regard, we'll be entirely supportive in terms of fixing it and making sure we have a culture that is accepting of everyone.

"I think it means we all have to look each other in the mirror and make sure that we are posing the right questions internally and acting in a way that we can only be proud of, not today but in the next 10 years."
