Cole Palmer has admitted he was 'confused' by Donald Trump being on the stand as Chelsea prepared to lift the Club World Cup trophy on Sunday night.
The England international scored twice, with new signing Joao Pedro also on target, as the Blues cruised to a 3-0 victory over Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain.
After the game, Trump congratulated Chelsea players - as well as their PSG counterparts.
However, the US President raised eyebrows by remaining on the stand as Blues stars prepared to lift the trophy aloft.

Palmer, in particular, looked stunned. The former Manchester City star appeared to mouth the words 'what is he doing?', while captain Reece James seemed equally shocked.
Now, Palmer has admitted he was 'confused' by Trump's antics.
"I knew he was going to be here but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy,” he admitted.
“I was a bit confused, yeah."

Other Chelsea players have also opened up on the talking point from Sunday's emphatic victory.
James was asked about his chat with Trump and responded by saying: "To be honest it was quite loud. I couldn't hear too much.
"He just congratulated me and the team for lifting the trophy and told us to enjoy the moment.”
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill added: “They told me that he was going to present the trophy and then exit the stage, and I thought that he was going to exit the stage, but he wanted to stay.”

The US President narrowly escaped death while campaigning for last year's election in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, meanwhile, admitted he was 'proud' of his players for delivering at the Club World Cup despite a gruelling season back in England.
"Being Club World Cup champions is something that we are very proud of," said the Italian.

"We are very happy, especially against PSG, that as I said two days ago in the press conference, I consider them the best in the world, with one of the best managers in the world, fantastic players.
"Today has been a top, top achievement."
When asked how he tactically outclassed by PSG, he continued: "Yeah, as you said, there are three midfielders, two of them were in charge of Reece [James] and Moi [Caicedo] this point, and Vitinha was in charge of Enzo [Fernandez].
"Analysing them, we saw that was a good opportunity to exploit that space, and we scored a goal on that side.

"It was just a game plan, as we said many times, we tried to use different game plans, and we tried to help the players to be in a position where they can give everything.
"Today, it worked quite well. But overall, I think, as I just said, it has been the effort from all the team, all the players, and I'm very happy, especially for them, because they deserve this moment."
