The Red Bull chief continues to deny allegations of misconduct

Christian Horner's accuser has reportedly hired 'very expensive lawyers' to advise her amid the saga that surrounds the Red Bull chief.

The F1 side recently cleared Horner of misconduct. Shortly afterwards, however, alleged text and WhatsApp messages sent by the 50-year-old were leaked.

Horner has branded the leak as 'anonymous speculation' and continues to deny claims of inappropriate behaviour.

According to The Sun, Horner's accuser was keen to jet out to Bahrain prior to Saturday's Grand Prix in the Middle East.

And it's claimed she has acquired 'very expensive' lawyers to help advise her on how to proceed.

“It’s frustrating for everyone and ridiculous to try to maintain business as usual in the circumstances," an insider is quoted as saying.

“The woman’s role involves continuing contact with Christian and they are having to get on with day-to-day work as though nothing has happened. But something has to give.

“She wanted to fly to Bahrain in her work role but that would have created a circus which no one wants and would be good for no one."

They added: “She has also acquired very expensive lawyers who have been advising her since the scandal blew up — but no one knows who’s paying for them."

It's also claimed that Geri Halliwell, Horner's wife, wants the accuser 'out of the picture'.

The complainant has until today to appeal Red Bull's decision. Their stance on that is currently unknown.

Upon clearing Horner, the F1 side said: "The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed.

"The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial.

"The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."

The complainant is continuing to work with the F1 side as Saturday's Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia creeps closer.

Red Bull insist they are 'united' at the current moment in time, despite claims of a rift involving Horner, Jos Verstappen and Helmut Marko.

Reports have claimed, however, that Horner's accuser has been left 'very unhappy' by Red Bull's decision.

A close friend of the woman in question recently told the Daily Mail: "My reaction to all this is that it is disgusting.

"In the words of Red Bull, Christian Horner has been cleared but I think many people look at that answer and can’t quite fathom out the truth behind it."

They are also quoted as adding: "Are the Red Bull investigation team independent?

"Who knows? They've made comparisons in the newspapers about Christian being grilled for 12 hours or so…well how many hours was she grilled for?

"They don't ask that question, but it is a lot more than that."

Horner thanked Geri for her support after she stood by his side in Bahrain on Saturday.

The Spice Girls icon smiled in a dazzling white dress and held the hand of her husband as Max Verstappen cruised to victory.

"I’m not going to comment on what motives, whatever person may have for doing this," Horner said, addressing the alleged leaks.

"My focus is on this team, my family, my wife and going racing.

"I have the support of an incredible family, of an incredible wife, of an incredible team and everybody within that team and my focus is on going racing and winning races and doing the best that I can.

"Obviously it’s not been pleasant. The unwanted attention, but the focus is now very much on the cars.

"My focus has very much been on what’s going on on track and the result today I think demonstrates where the whole team’s focus is and we move onwards."
