King Charles will participate in the historic ceremony alongside Pope Leo
King Charles and Queen Camilla have arrived in Vatican City, Rome, ahead of their first meeting with Pope Leo XIV since he took office.
The monarch is set to join the Pope in a public prayer service, marking the first such event since the Reformation at the Sistine Chapel.
As Supreme Governor of the Church of England, King Charles will participate in the historic ceremony alongside Pope Leo XIV, as part of the Papal Jubilee celebrations held once every 25 years.
The landmark religious event will be the focus of the royal couple’s two-day visit to the Vatican, which began yesterday evening upon their arrival in the Italian capital.
