
A shake-up of business rates means the average pub will be forced to pay an extra £1,400
A pub landlord has told GB News that the industry has "nothing left to give" after the latest Budget from Rachel Reeves,
The industry has been hit by rising business rates, energy bills, alcohol duty, and minimum wage increases.
Landlady Lorna Turnbull described the outlook as “bleak,” warning that some pubs could close under the strain.
She added that the sector is already stretched to its limits, saying it “cannot give anymore".
