King Charles and Camilla are undertaking a three-day State Visit in France

Queen Camilla, 76, and Brigitte Macron, 70, hilariously went head to head in a game of table tennis today, during the King and Queen's State Visit to France.

King Charles and Camilla are visiting France for the first time since the Coronation, and the Queen surprised everyone today when she showed her lack of ping pong skills.

In a video posted to social media, Queen Camilla could be seen struggling to hit the ball across the net, taking at least three attempts to do so.

By comparison, Macron showed a decent level of skill at playing the game, hitting the ball swiftly so it bounced once before crossing over the net.

Poor Camilla rarely managed to hit the ball back to continue the rally, with runners on standby to pick up the ball each time it dropped.

Royal fans and experts alike found the video hilarious and took to social media to comment on Queen Camilla's display.

Angela Levin, a well-known royal commentator, claimed: "This is embarrassing."

One royal watcher tweeted: "Neither of them are very good." Another added: "Poor Camilla..."

Similarly, a social media user wrote: "They look too amateurish and childish. At this time of year, Madame Macron could have spotted a garden and talked about the plants."

"This is the kind of content I'm here for! Love it," another fan wrote.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl who spoke to GB News, the outfit took inspiration from Princess Kate, who is renowned for her fabulous cape dresses.

King Charles gave a speech at the palace where he stressed his appreciation to President Emmanuel Macron for hosting him and his wife for the state visit.

He was particularly grateful for the President's tributes to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8, 2022.

TheKing said: “Your generosity of spirit brings to mind how my family and I were so greatly moved by the tributes paid in France to my mother, the late Queen, whose funeral took place one year ago yesterday."
