Prince Harry's memoir Spare remains the fastest-selling debut of the year, as Britney Spears's new autobiography failed to match the Duke of Sussex's 1.6 million sales in its first week.

The 41-year-old singer released her memoir “The Woman in Me” on October 24, and in its first week it has sold a whopping 1.1 million copies in America.

Spears released a statement on Wednesday with Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schuster.

She said: “I poured my heart and soul into my memoir, and I am grateful to my fans and readers around the world for their unwavering support.”

As well as documenting her musical career, Spears's memoir focuses on the conservatorship that for many years granted her father control of much of her life.

However, despite the mass anticipation surrounding the book, it failed to match the Duke of Sussex's record for the amount of sales in its first week.

When Prince Harry released Spare in January 2023, the royal sat down for multiple interviews to promote the memoir.

Several excerpts had been leaked in the days leading up to its release, which led to a worldwide reaction.
