Princess Eugenie has spoken out about her sister Princess Beatrice after she was notably missing at a major Royal Family engagement this evening.

Eugenie, 35, was present in support of Prince William and Princess Kate as they hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, joined them alongside his wife Sophie as well as Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Tindall.

Taking to Instagram, Eugenie updated royal watchers on what her older sister had been up to recently as she shared pictures of them both attending the Chelsea Flower Show.

“Such a lovely afternoon visiting the @the_rhs Chelsea Flower Show, especially when I get to do it with my sis!” Eugenie wrote in her post alongside a carousel of pics.

The sisters, the daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, could be seen strolling with their arms around each other's waists in the first image.

They could also be seen walking the gardens together in another picture.

Eugenie was pictured solo in the carousel, chatting with various other attendees of the show – including some Chelsea pensioners.

The royal continued in her post: “It was fantastic to catch up with horatiosgarden again and to see their beautiful display.”

Horatio’s Garden is a charity founded by Dr Olivia Chapple in honour of her late son which builds “outdoor space for patients with spinal injuries”.

The non-profit has long had support from Eugenie, who herself underwent a harrowing health journey to treat her treated for scoliosis when she was just 12 years old.

Speaking to The Telegraph previously, the 35-year-old spoke about the good work of the organisation and her belief in the healing power of nature.

“Having worked with Horatio’s Garden, I’ve seen how the garden is so transformative for patients. Nature is so healing; hearing the sound of the birds and running water,” she explained.

Eugenie added in her post that she had visited gardens on show from organisations like Downs Syndrome Scotland, Hospice UK’s Garden for Compassion, the Avanade Intelligent Garden and the Cha No Niwa Japanese Tea Garden – the garden of the year winner.

The update came as Eugenie appeared at the Prince and Princess of Wales’ garden party at Buckingham Palace.

The Waleses had stepped in for the King and Queen, who had been attending a different historic engagement earlier in the day.
