A royal correspondent has spoken about the duke's 'unscripted' approach to royal engagements

Prince Harry has been described as “authentic” as he speaks with “no filter” during public engagements, a royal correspondent has claimed.

Valentine Low, who joined the duke on various royal visits, has described the prince as being “unpredictable” and “unscripted” during tours.

Prince Harry recently interviewed with Good Morning America where he talked openly about how he “loved” his family.

He also took part in various public events during a three-day launch event in Canada for the Invictus Games including skeleton diving and sit-skiing.

As Prince Harry set off on his sit ski in Canada, the duke joked: “Do I need to sign a waiver?”

British Journalist, Low, said: “One of the things about Harry is he has no filter.

“You always saw authentic Harry which was fantastic and he was also unpredictable.”

The Duke of Sussex stepped back from royal working duties in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle, but continues to undertake public engagements.

Earlier this month the prince presented the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in Las Vegas where he joked about the difference between American football and rugby.

Harry joked: “You stole rugby from us and you made it your own…instead of passing it backwards, just pass it forwards. Why not wear pads and a helmet?"

Low told The Sun: “One of my favourite days of royal reporting was in Jamaica in the tour in 2012 when Harry was on a race track with Usain Bolt and basically cheated and beat [him] in the 50 yard dash.”

The moment was described as “unscripted” and took the record winner Usain Bolt “by surprise.”

Low also credited Harry as being “amazing in some ways,” adding that the duke drove the team with his “energy, vision and enthusiasm.”

Prince Harry released a memoir called Spare in 2023 where he was very open about his use of drugs during his youth.

The comments in his book have threatened his US visa status as a conservative think tank argue that Prince Harry’s visa application should be made public.

In his tell-all memoir, the duke admitted to taking marijuana, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms in the past.
