Prince William will be “staring at his destiny in the eye” after his father’s shock cancer diagnosis, according to royal expert Jennie Bond.
She spoke on GB News after the bombshell revelation that left Britons crestfallen.
The Prince of Wales has suffered a turbulent period with his wife, Princess Kate, undergoing abdominal surgery last month.
William had taken time off to support his family while Kate recovered, but is now set to return to royal duties prematurely after his father’s cancer diagnosis left a threadbare monarchy in dire need of support.

According to Bond, a return to duty is not the only thing on William’s mind with his destiny now at the forefront of his thinking.
“It’s terrible news for William”, she said.

“You have to feel for William. Not only has Charles been brought up short, smack bang facing mortality, as we all do, but William must be facing his destiny in the eye rather more clearly.
“Right now is not the time he wants to even think about taking on the duties of monarch. Of course this isn’t likely to happen because we’re told that everything is positive with the King.
“Nevertheless, William’s time at the moment is to be a family man and look after his wife as she recovers and be a full on family man.
“He is going back to work and taking on more duties than he otherwise would have done during Catherine’s recuperation.”
William’s return will be seen as an attempt to signal stability within the monarchy during a turbulent period.
The 41-year-old stepped back from his royal role three weeks ago to juggle caring for his wife and their children after Kate’s operation.
It is understood that William will undertake some duties on behalf of the King in addition to his own diary of engagements.
As future King and the senior royal in the line of succession he is expected to shoulder most of the responsibility.
But workaholic Charles is expected to carry on behind the scenes dealing with his famous red boxes as he attempts to lift some of the burden off his son.
He will also hold his weekly audience with the PM and monthly Privy Council meetings, which can both be done remotely.
