In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we think about Pentecost.
"As our society has secularised, we have lost some of our connection to our past.
"Modernising is not wrong, but if you travel to other countries, especially during festivals and celebrations, you may have been struck by how big a deal it is for communities to mark these occasions together.
"It's no surprise that without an overarching narrative that brings us closer and commits us to one another, we retreat into individualism, selfishness, loneliness and anxiety.
"We need a bigger story, it's the way we're wired.
"Pentecost, the gift of the Holy Spirit, is part of the Christian story. It tells us that anyone, no matter where you start from, can be part of that story too."
