British expat's home raided by BOMB SQUAD in Spain as part of terror probe

A bomb squad has been called in to the home of a British expat in Spain, after poor parking flagged them up to local authorities.
The woman, who has not been named, was arrested on Monday alongside her Spanish husband.
The arrests took place in the town of Lanjaron in Granada.
They were arrested in connection of being linked to the assassination attempt of far-right Spanish politician Alejo Vidal-Quadras, 78.

According to neighbours quoted by Spanish press, the couple moved to the flat they were arrested in, on Avenida de la Alpujarra, just two weeks ago.
Spanish press reports that the married couple were only found out due to their terrible parking.
Due to an agri-food and honey festival, the parking bay their car was parked in was temporarily off limits.
The City Council’s efforts to find its owners led to a car rental agency in Malaga from which the car had been leased.

A police source told The Olive Press: “When entering the license plate into the system, all the alarms went off.”
It became the scene of an investigation on Monday evening involving more than 20 uniformed officers.
The Technician Specialist in Deactivation of Explosive Artefacts (Tedax) bomb squad and sniffer dogs were also involved in the raid, before agents were seen taking away multiple suitcases and boxes as evidence.
A third individual, a man, was also arrested yesterday, in Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol. Neither of the three are believed to have fired the shot that almost killed Vidal-Quadras.
Reuters reports that Vidal-Quadras accused Iran on Wednesday of being behind his attempted murder.
Vidal-Quadras did not offer any proof to back up his claim and Spanish authorities have not confirmed any such theory.
Iran's embassy in Madrid said in a statement it "firmly condemns any kind of terrorist operation," though it did not immediately comment on Vidal-Quadras' claims.
The three were being transferred to Madrid on Wednesday to appear before an investigating High Court judge.
