The mother of a 14-year-old who died following an online "blackout" challenge has hailed Sir Keir Starmer's decision to restrict access to social media for children.
Speaking to GB News, Ellen Roome opened up about the loss of her son, Jools Sweeney.
Hailing the "fantastic" news, Ms Roome said: "It's basically a product that's flawed. We've got children on a harmful product that's feeding them harmful content, keeping them addicted by design of the product.
"And actually, there is no other area that we would allow somebody on a product which is harmful.
"We need to remove that from them. And so although it's a ban, it's actually protecting them. And that's the reason we need to do it."
