An American has lauded the prospect of another Donald Trump presidential term, saying he “thrived” the first time around.
He was among many voters at the Iowa caucus to speak to GB News’s Nigel Farage.
Heralding the democracy on show in the US state, Farage took to the floor to learn more about the intentions of those present.
Asking about the litany of court cases facing Trump, something proving to be a major headache as the ex-president faces a balancing act in his run for the presidency, one American said it is telling that he is yet to be convicted.

“They’ve spent millions of dollars investigating this guy, and they haven’t turned up anything to actually convict him on”, he said.
“He’s a clean candidate to me. I thrived under his presidency, I want to have him back and have America thrive.

Another voter told Farage he wants a clean break with the past by putting faith in another candidate.
He cited Trump’s legal concerns as a key reason for his suggestion.
“He was the right choice for 2016”, he said.
“But for now, we need to have fresh blood. I’m open minded at the moment. I’m leaning towards Ron DeSantis at this point, he’s a proven leader.
“He’s done a lot of great things in Florida. I think his approach for securing our border and stopping the flow of drugs that kill our kids coming in is a very important thing.
“Foreign policy is huge. That’s why I’m open to Nikki Haley too, because she lived it.”
Trump goes to New Hampshire buoyed after winning more than half of the vote in Iowa, but is expecting a closer call this time around.
The former President is hoping to blow away his competition in the opening primaries in order to give himself a clear run to the election.
In a New Hampshire speech, Trump urged voters not to “waste time” on Haley and DeSantis and instead back him as he bids to set up a likely rematch against Joe Biden.
