Joe Biden has added to his ever-growing list of blunders after mistakenly referring to the former First Lady Michelle Obama as the former Vice President.
In fact it was Mr Biden who served as Barack Obama’s Vice President between 2009 and 2017, before he was inaugurated as the 47th President in January 2021, taking over from Donald Trump.
His comments came during a speech while commissioning the commemoration ceremony of the USS Delaware on Saturday, where he praised his wife Jill for her work as First Lady.
Mr Biden said: "I'm deeply proud of the work she [Jill] is doing as First Lady with Joining Forces initiative she started with Michelle Obama when she was Vice President and now carries on."
The White House attempted to recover the blip by crossing out the word “she” and putting in brackets “I” in their official transcript of the speech.

This is not the first time that the US President has fumbled his words, having done so on several occasions previously.
Back in March, Mr Biden managed to insult Irish people on St Patrick’s Day while speaking about his Irish heritage.
During a virtual St Patrick’s Day meeting with Taoiseach Micheal Martin, Mr Biden said: "Well, I just want you to know, I may be Irish but I'm not stupid. I married Dominic Giacoppo's daughter," referencing the name of Jill Biden's dad, Donald Jacobs.
Mr Biden also appeared to confuse Ukrainians with Iranians during his State of the Union speech In Washington at the beginning of March.
He said: “Six days ago, Russia's Vladimir Putin sought to shake the very foundation of the free world, thinking he could make it bend to his menacing ways. But he badly miscalculated.
“He thought he could roll into Ukraine and the world would roll over. Instead, he [was] met with a wall of strength he never anticipated or expected – he met the Ukrainian people.
“Putin may circle Kyiv with tanks, but he’ll never gain the hearts and souls of the Iranian people."
