Almost half a million British pensioners are trapped on frozen state pensions, as low as £22 per week, because of where they choose to live in the world.
A group of them are taking their grievance to Westminster today, highlighting what they say is a cruel system.

Speaking to GB News National Reporter Ellie Costello, Chairman of The International Consortium of British Pensioners John Duffy said he was there to “represent those frozen pensioners.”
“We think it's discriminatory, it's grossly unfair. We've all paid the same amount of money into it and we should be entitled to get the same amount back out again,” he added.

“The government continuously say that it’s a policy that they have had for 70 years and they have no intention of changing it.
“You could say that about slavery, homosexuality, hanging. That is not a good excuse.
“We are discriminated against. We have people suffering. We have people who are below the poverty line all because the government is too mean to pay them the money that they are owed.”

This issue affects 492,000 pensioners, now living overseas – half of them are receiving less than £65.00 a week instead of the full state pension of £141.85 because their pension is frozen at the level it was when they first left the UK and claimed it abroad.
