Liberal Democrats leader Sir Ed Davey has hit out at the latest election pledge made by the Conservative government.
New plans will see the personal allowance for pensioners increasing by at least 2.5 per cent or in line with the highest of earnings or inflation.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the scheme “shows we are on the side of the pensioners”.
Sir Ed Davey disagrees, saying it’s remarkable to make such a claim as he pointed to tax raises for pensioners.
