Skin experts shared the best way to achieve a glowing complexion

Genetics have a lot to do with how the skin ages but what you eat and put on your face can also make a difference.

Britons can turn back the clock and achieve brighter skin with some daily practices, experts said.

They explained investing in a skin care routine is key, even if it is only for a few minutes each day.

Britons need to be consistent in this to see results, according to experts at Kiehl's.

They said: "Skin care can help boost skin clarity too, but there’s no point in applying the occasional serum if you’re not following a consistent daily routine.

"Consistency is key when it comes to most skin issues, including clarity.

"Find a routine that suits both your skin and the time you have each day, whether it’s two minutes or 20 minutes, and never miss your morning and evening skincare steps, we promise your skin will thank you."

There are lots of skin care products available that target various skin issues.

For "brighten, younger" skin, the experts suggested products rich in vitamin C.

Vitamin C is known to help dull skin, slow signs of ageing and even prevent the appearance of wrinkles, according to data from Harvard Health Publishing.

Keihl's experts continued: "Adding a vitamin C serum to your skincare routine can help achieve a radiant look while penetrating the skin’s surface layers, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

"This boosts skin’s radiant appearance and reveals brighter, younger-looking skin.

"You can add vitamin C at any point in your routine, but the serum stage is always a good place to use more active ingredients, as skin is already cleansed and prepped."

How someone dresses, styles their hair and does their make-up can all affect how old they look.

An expert shared a "vital" hair care tip to help avoid "thin and unhealthy" hair.

Thick, full and healthy hair can help give men and women a more youthful appearance.
