A wellness expert spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can look more youthful

Ageing is inevitable but it is certainly possible to delay the physical effects of getting older.

A wellness expert spoke exclusively to GB News about how women can look 10 years younger by ditching a very common habit - stressing.

Wellness enthusiast Christianne Wolff, author of several wellness books in The Body Rescue Plan series, said that stress can "add years to the body".

She recommended that women "lower their stress levels", explaining that "most people are in a suspended state of fight or flight, which adds years onto the body through stress".

While some stress is unavoidable, it's possible to manage this at home with a key exercise.

The expert said: "A very simple technique to lower stress levels is to take 10 deep breaths a few times a day.

"This is scientifically proven to help you lower your cortisol levels (your stress hormone) and helps switches on the parasympathetic nervous system."

Christianne added: "I also recommend to my clients to do regular practices of stimulating their vagus nerve, which helps take you out of fight or fight.

"Simple techniques include rubbing your ear lobe, breath work, splashing cold water on your face, gargling, and humming - to name a few."

For those who have a little more time, yoga and meditation are other ways to do this.

The expert also recommended maintaining an active lifestyle, as "regular exercise is also beneficial for keeping us younger".

For those looking for a new workout regime, a three-minute movement can drastically lower your risk of diabetes.

Christianne concluded: "Doing all the above also helps contribute to a good sleep pattern and good mood, happiness and laughter are the key to looking youthful."

The wellness expert also told GB News that women can look 10 years younger in "days" if they ditch an inflammatory food.

She warned: "When your body becomes inflamed you get bloated, puffy and dark circles under your eyes. Your skin colour can become grey and your eyes, hair and nails can look dull and lifeless."

Women can also look 10 years younger with an "essential" skin care hack - it's an "absolute must for every single person".
