The woman was left housebound after her lupus triggered an extreme reaction of the skin
A woman who withdrew from her social life after becoming plagued with an extreme case of rosacea has revealed her transformation.
Hazel from Manchester retreated from her usual activities after an “angry case” of the inflammatory condition left her with an “unsightly” reaction to the epidermis.
“My face was red and angry looking,” Hazel explained. “My skin was lumpy to the touch and had raised bumps. I just looked unsightly.
“Most of the time I’d stay inside. If I had to go out, I used to walk with my head down, wearing a coat with the hood up. I didn’t want people to see me. It was awful.

Hazel’s skin concerns were typical signs of rosacea, which affects one in 10 people in the United Kingdom, according to the NHS.
Patients are generally afflicted with a red and bumpy reaction that is concentrated in the chiefs, but the issue can frequently spread to the eyes.
“I had regular laser sessions and took medication for eight years, but they didn’t do anything,” Hazel explained.
“Eventually I gave up on treatment, but the doctors didn’t offer me any alternative solutions.
“I didn’t know where to start with another treatment, I thought I’d have to look like that forever. I completely withdrew at this point, and wouldn’t go out. If anyone invited me anywhere, I made excuses. I didn’t want anyone to see me.”
Things took a turn when Hazel sought the help of Skincare specialist Sarah Louise, who proceeded to treat her with the AlumierMD medical-grade skincare range.
The skin expert noted: “Hazel’s home skin care regime was vital to minimise the risk of relapse and suppress symptoms from returning.
“We continued to provide the skin with essential medical-grade ingredients specific to her needs, safeguard the skin’s integrity and continuous regeneration of the cellular matrix.”
After more than eight years of chronic skin issues, Hazel began to notice improvements in the texture of her skin.
With a new boost of confidence, Hazel joined a dating site, where she eventually met her husband.

"I never used to take photos, but now I'm not self-conscious anymore," she declared.
Sarah stresses the importance of a tailored skincare regime for those afflicted by the condition.
"I would always advise anyone who believes they have symptoms or show signs of rosacea to seek medical advice or an expert in skin conditions.
"Common mistakes like using baby wipes to remove make-up or alcohol-based products can aggravate skin conditions like rosacea and promote worsening of symptoms."
The expert says redness or flushing of the skin after exercising, drinking alcohol or being exposed to heat may warrant a visit to your doctor.
Other signs of rosacea may include uneven skin texture presenting in small bumps or pimples, broken or visible capillaries, skin thickening, or persistent skin discolouration that mimics sunburn or blusher.
