A UK break is a wonderful way to spend quality time with your other half, and there has been a change in what type of staycation couples are opting for.
New research has found bookings by couples surged 14 per cent year-on-year, and two parts of the country are proving particularly popular.
East Anglia is the most sought-after destination for couples in 2025, followed by Wales. This is according to the latest research from Parkdean Resorts.
It highlighted a trend in shorter and more affordable romantic breaks, and these locations offer both value and convenience.

Norwich is a great option for a romantic getaway in East Anglia

The research shows most Britons are searching for convenience when booking their trips, so look for destinations that have train stations or are easily accessible by car.
The experts added: “One of the biggest factors driving the growth in demand for UK staycations is the value for money they offer.
"Our research shows that 61 per cent of UK holidaymakers believe domestic holidays provide better value than trips abroad, with 54 per cent citing cost as the primary reason for choosing a destination closer to home.
