The FCO said: "There have been cases of the mosquito-borne disease, dengue fever, in France.
"You should take appropriate precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes."
This comes as cases were reported in the French Antilles, Martinique and Guadeloupe.
Dengue fever can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, sickness, rashes and body aches.
Tourists in France have been warned to be careful as the city's threat level is at its highest.
Holidaymakers should be prepared for evacuations of crowded places such as airports, public stations and tourist spots, the FCO states.
It continued: "Following a fatal attack in Arras, northern France on 13 October 2023, France has raised its national threat level to the highest level (‘Emergency Attack Level’).
"This threat level is described as ‘maximum vigilance and protection in the event of an imminent threat of a terrorist act or in the immediate aftermath of an attack’."
