You can start streaming the new arrivals today

  • Virgin Media added two new channels to its set-top boxes for free
  • These are part of FAST channels, or Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television
  • It's one of the fastest-growing content categories across the UK
  • The new arrivals include 8 out of 10 Cats (Ch 250) and Pointless (Ch 251)

Virgin Media has added two new channels to your Virgin TV set-top box. Both new arrivals are ad-supported, providing an array of entertainment throughout the day at no extra cost.

Known as FAST channels, or Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television, this category is one of the fastest growing in British telly, with the likes of Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, and Tubi, offering vast catalogues at no cost.

In fact, Roku just added 22 of these new channels for users, meanwhile, Virgin Media rolled-out a trio of other new channels earlier this year. The latest arrivals from the telecom are:

  • 8 out of 10 Cats (Ch. 250): It features non-stop, around-the-clock broadcasts of the topical, opinion-poll-based comedy show hosted by Jimmy Carr
  • Pointless (Ch. 251): It showcases 24/7 broadcasts of the beloved trivia series hosted by Alexander Armstrong
Both are available to stream today directly from your set-top box.
