AI-driven experiences like Circle To Search and Live Translate are now baked into the Try Galaxy app
You can now test the Galaxy S24's best features ...without switching the phone in your pocket. Samsung has rolled out a packed update to its Try Galaxy app, which lets you give some of the latest tricks a trial run on your existing iPhone and Android phone.
This marks the first time that you’re able to use the Try Galaxy app on any Android handset, which was previously tailored to bring the experience of using a Galaxy phone to iOS.
Download the Try Galaxy app on your Android phone and you’ll be able to access features like Live Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, Photo Assist and Circle to Search. These experiences are all driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and offer clever new perks for Galaxy owners.
AI features like Note Assist, which uses a ChatGPT-like AI to read through lengthy notes and summarise everything into a few bullet points, are now included in the Try Galaxy app

Despite being announced alongside the all-new Galaxy S24, S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra last month, Samsung will roll out some of these AI tricks to older handsets with an incoming software update.
Samsung has overhauled the Try Galaxy app to simulate the homescreen of a Galaxy S24. Once you’ve installed the app, tutorials and interactive content showcase the interface. Tapping on widgets will play a short tutorial video explaining the AI features and camera tools.
As the name suggests, this AI-driven experience is designed to help you communicate with someone who speaks a different language. Whether you’re sending a text message or on a call, Galaxy AI will translate into your preferred language in real-time. It supports 13 languages for now.

If your Notes app is a bit of an unorganised mess, Samsung’s new AI will do the hard work for you. It will automatically format notes, check spelling, translate portions of the text, and provide glanceable bullet-point summaries of dense paragraphs.
If you struggle with tone when writing an email, text message, or document — Galaxy AI can advise on the right choice of words. It can refine the tone for (almost) any occasion, from professional to casual. “Send polished meeting agendas to the boss, and chat with international friends in Spanish. The AI built into the Samsung Keyboard can also translate messages in real-time in 13 languages, so that users can communicate better across cultural and language barriers,” Samsung says.
Google’s Pixel smartphone series is usually associated with AI tricks to edit photos ...but Samsung is offering its users a chance to tap into AI to resize, reposition, or remove objects within photos. Using Generative Edit, Samsung will fill-in any blank spaces created as you tap-and-drag the subject of the photo to a new spot within the image.
There’s also a new Erase Reflection tool that automatically removes unwanted shadows and light reflections from glass and water.
With a quick circle gesture, you can start a Google search for anything displayed on-screen without switching apps. This works for text, as well as images of clothing, stills from a movie or television show, actor or reality star, and much more.
As well as getting hands-on with the latest features in the Galaxy S24, Samsung’s Try Galaxy app now includes information on the latest camera hardware built into the handsets. Obviously, Samsung can’t change the megapixel count or the zoom capabilities of your current phone ...so you’re not going to be able to try these features without pocketing a Galaxy S24, S24+, or Galaxy S24 Ultra.

However, through a series of tutorial videos, you’ll be able to learn how to take clear, bright photos at night from far away using Nightography Zoom, record videos of subjects moving at high speed with the Super Steady feature, and shoot impressive portraits and selfies in Portrait mode.
While on the app, Try Galaxy users can also try the new Galaxy Themes or background images beyond the Wallpapers, offered on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. As a bonus for those who download Try Galaxy, three types of Art Wallpapers including graffiti and pop art are available for download.
So even if you don’t decide to upgrade to the Galaxy S24, S24+, or Galaxy S24 Ultra, you’ll be able to use a Samsung wallpaper to bring a little bit of the new Galaxy series with you.
