You don't need to worry about owning any Peloton equipment, either

  • Spotify has added workout classes to its Premium subscription
  • This includes strength training, pilates, cardio, and more from Peloton
  • You can find these classes in a new dedicated section of the app
  • Peloton usually charges at least £12.99 for its app-based workouts

Spotify has unlocked a way for you to upgrade your fitness routine from the comfort of your home.

The streaming giant has inked a deal with Peloton to bring you more than 1,400 exercise and wellness sessions, all in a dedicated section of the Spotify app. While you might associate Peloton with its high-tech stationary bikes and treadmills, the subscription has offered video classes to follow along without any equipment since 2018.

Peloton charges £12.99 for a subscription to access its 1,400 at-home workouts, which is the same cost as Spotify Premium. As such, this generous new addition is only available if you're a Spotify Premium member.

Roman Wasenmüller, VP, Global Head of Podcasts, Spotify, said: “For nearly two decades, Spotify has been the soundtrack to the world’s workouts.

"But listening was only the beginning. Today, we are expanding Spotify to become a true daily wellness companion. By bringing Peloton directly into our video and audio ecosystem, we are investing in a future where Spotify isn’t just where you spend your time—it’s where you go to build momentum, improve your wellbeing, and get more out of every day.”

The classes cover a solid range of workouts, including strength training, pilates, barre, yoga, stretching, and floor cardio. There are also meditation sessions if you prefer something calmer, plus outdoor running and walking programmes.

If you're not yet a Spotify Premium member, you can subscribe to the following plans:

  • £12.99 for Premium Individual
  • £17.99 for Premium Duo
  • £21.99 for Premium Family
  • £5.99 for Premium Student

And, you can get three months for free when you sign up today. A premium subscription will remove ads, allow unlimited song skips, enable offline downloads for listening without data, and more.

You'll find the Peloton classes in a brand new Fitness category on the platform.

This is comparable to Apple Fitness+, which is a subscription-based workout service designed for Apple device users, featuring 12+ workout types (HIIT, Strength, Yoga, etc.) and meditations. It offers studio-style classes, including 5- to 45-minute sessions with real-time Apple Watch metrics (heart rate, calories) on screen.

Subscriptions to Apple Fitness+ start at £9.49/ month, but you can also choose to bundle Apple Music together in the Apple One Premier plan for £36.95/month.

On the other hand, FIIT offers similar classes in a free subscription. They also offer a premium option costing £9.99/month, but this doesn't include the ability to stream music. You can only listen to curated workout playlists while training, or use your own music while hearing only the trainer's voice with a separate Spotify subscription.

Peloton's Chief Commercial Officer Dion Camp Sanders said: "We've always believed that the best workout is the one you actually do, which is why accessing world-class fitness content should be as easy as tuning into your favourite Spotify playlist."

"With this partnership, we are instantly activating a global footprint that makes the magic of Peloton accessible to Spotify Premium subscribers anywhere."

And here's the good bit – this isn't a one-off content dump. Peloton says fresh classes from their popular instructors will be added to the platform on a regular basis, so you'll have new sessions to try out over time.

You're not limited to English either. The library includes classes in Spanish and German, too, which opens accessibility up for millions more users across different countries.

Spotify has recently released several new features across its platform — including a new app specifically for your tablet. To combat the use of AI, the streaming platform has also "removed over 75 million spammy tracks" in the past 12 months.
