This is the ChillPill, the latest product to emerge from the R&D laboratory at SharkNinja.
It's a handheld fan with three distinct ways to keep you cool during the summer months – a high-speed fan capable of blasting air at 7.5 metres per second (that's 16.7mph), an evaporative mist, and a cooling pad that lowers skin temperature by up to 9°C when held in place.

A few years after John Lewis struggled to keep its viral handheld fan in stock as temperatures soared across the UK, global brands like SharkNinja — best known for its air fryers, haircare, and vacuum cleaners — and Dyson are now entering the fray with their own solutions.
According to SharkNinja, the ChillPill is the only 3-in-1 portable cooling system on the market. At £129.99, it's more expensive than the newly-launched Dyson HushJet Mini Cool, although the latter only ships with a single method to stop you from sweating.

The ChillPill promises up to 11 hours of battery life on a single charge, so it should keep you cool on the longest days spent sightseeing or working out. This all-new design was made possible by combining engineering knowledge from across the existing portfolio of products, including the fan engineering innovations used in its cleaning products and the cryo‑inspired cooling pads developed by its beauty division for the likes of the FacialPro Glow, DePuffi and the CryoGlow mask.
When it runs out of juice, SharkNinja says it'll take 3.5-hours plugged into the wall with the included charging cable to refill.

The Massachusetts-based technology firm has sought certification from the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to ensure this one-of-its-kind handheld fan is compliant, so you can use it during a flight and safely store it inside your carry-on luggage.
In the box, SharkNinja includes the ChillPill system with the fan cap for those who want to cool with a steady flow of air, the Misting Pod to cool with an evaporative mist that wets skin without soaking, and the InstaChill cooling plate. The latter is pressed against your skin to lower your skin temperature by up to 9°C.

Optional mounts sold separately will let you secure the ChillPill to the handle of a pram, on your bike handlebars, or carry it with a crossbody strap or wrist-worn mount, for example.
