Less than two weeks after its new Pixel 10 was released in stores, Google has ditched a new key AI feature.
Daily Hub was introduced with the flagship Pixel 10 smartphones for the first time. It’s designed to be a one-stop daily digest — you'll be able to check the weather, upcoming calendar events, reminders, media and content recommendations, and “topics of interest” suggestions based on your usage.
But it seems the functionality was impacting overall performance on this new Android handset.
A Google spokesperson told the team at 9to5Google, “To ensure the best possible experience on Pixel, we’re temporarily pausing the public preview of Daily Hub for users.
"Our teams are actively working to enhance their performance and refine the personalised experience. We look forward to reintroducing an improved Daily Hub when it’s ready.”

Daily Hub was designed to offer pre-emptive glanceable assistance every day. Until Google is happy with its impact on its custom-designed Tensor system-on-a-chip, it won't re-enable the feature. However, it seems many Pixel 10 users won't be missing Daily Hub while it's suspended.
One Reddit user said, "Probably one of, if not Google's most useless features ever baked into a phone. It was literally useless."
Another Reddit user wrote, "I had already turned mine off as half of what it suggested had nothing to do with my interests, and it didn't seem to have an obvious way to train it any differently."

"This was absolutely a feature a team worked on about 60 days before launch in a desperate, failed attempt to create a Pixel unique feature. And it doesn’t seem to have worked at all with Google Workspace. Magic Cue will be next to go," wrote another Reddit user.
If you're not familiar, Magic Cue is an AI-powered feature introduced on Google’s Pixel 10 series that anticipates your needs by connecting the dots across your apps — like Gmail, Calendar, Messages, and more — to surface helpful info and actions exactly when you might need it.
Whether it’s pulling up a flight number when you're calling the airline, finding photos from a recent trip, or giving you reservation details to reply to a message, it's designed to help you streamline your day-to-day tasks.
While Daily Hub has been removed, Google has said that this is temporary and plans to restore it at a later date, but the official timeline hasn't been confirmed
| GOOGLE PRESS OFFICEDaily Hub was only available in the Google Public Preview, meaning it wasn't actually available to everyone yet. Google Public Preview provides you with early access to new features for the Google Home app and Google Nest devices before their widespread release. If you opt in, you can try out the latest features and provide feedback to help improve products before they are rolled out to everyone.
Even though it was only available for testing, the tech company still used Daily Hub as one of the features you could expect when it was advertising the new handsets.

This isn't the first issue the Pixel 10 has experienced since its release, either. In the last few weeks, users have reported having "screen snow" on their mobiles, which is when the touchscreen will suddenly freeze and start displaying colourful static that resembles a broken television set. Google has since raced to fix the issue and launched an emergency Android update.
Google has since stopped promoting Daily Hub until it's ready to be reintroduced on the Pixel 10. There's no set date for when the feature will return, but Google said its teams are actively working on the rerelease.
