The disruption has impacted Vodafone, EE, BT, O2 and Three, with fault-reporting website Downdetector recording substantial increases in customer complaints for each provider.

|Across the UK, thousands of people reported problems with their mobile network, including the 'Big Four' of Three, EE, Vodafone, and O2
Multiple major carriers began experiencing widespread technical problems at approximately 11am BST, leaving customers unable to place or receive telephone calls.
The simultaneous nature of these technical difficulties across multiple independent networks represents an unusual occurrence in the UK telecommunications sector.
Hey there 👋 We're really sorry, but due to some technical issues some customers will be experiencing issues making or receiving calls, we know how important it is for you to have this working and we're working really hard to fix this as soon as possible. Abhay

Customers have flooded social media platforms with complaints about their inability to connect calls. "I can't make or receive any calls," an EE customer posted on X. "All I get is beep beep." Another user expressed concern about reaching family members, writing: "I can't get through to my dad."
So far, Vodafone has acknowledged experiencing technical difficulties, with a company representative stating, "We’re really sorry for the inconvenience. We’re currently experiencing a technical issue affecting calls for some customers."

However, if you're an O2 customer, the company insists its systems are remaining fully operational despite reports on Downdetector.
The extent of today's telecommunications crisis became evident through monitoring platforms and social media channels. Downdetector recorded dramatic surges in fault reports beginning around 11am, with particularly severe impacts noted in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
The telecommunications disruption extends beyond the primary networks to smaller operators relying on shared infrastructure. Providers including Utility Warehouse, Ecotalk, Co-op Mobile, 1pMobile, Lyca Mobile and spusu have experienced service interruptions due to their dependence on EE's network systems.
Telecommunications solutions provider Comms UK acknowledged the widespread nature of the crisis on X, stating: "We're aware of a nationwide outage affecting multiple mobile carriers, which may impact your ability to make or receive calls to mobile networks. Our team is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available."
Following the outage, Vodafone and Three announced there was no issue with their networks, instead suggesting only customers who have ported from EE to Vodafone or Three may be experiencing issues.
GB News understands that the issue means Vodafone or Three customers may have trouble contacting EE users.
