EE has added support for DAZN to its EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Edge. It bolsters the lineup of streamers available on these set-top boxes, which launched in late 2023 as pat of a major overhaul to the EE TV brand.

For those who don't know, DAZN — it's pronounced "Da Zone" – is a global streamer that's often nicknamed as the "Netflix of Sports," offering live and on-demand sports content in the UK and over 200 countries worldwide.

Founded in 2016, it's designed to offer flexible and affordable access to live sports fixtures, documentaries, and on-demand content without lengthy subscriptions.

With the DAZN app now available on set-top boxes, EE TV viewers will be able to stream over 185 fight nights every year from top promoters like Matchroom, Queensberry, Misfits, Golden Boy, Riyadh Season, and BKFC; over 300 live football matches from Italy’s Serie A Championship; Weekly Jupiler Pro League fixtures; highlights from the LALIGA EA Sports, Bundesliga, Lega Serie A, and Saudi Pro Leagu; stream from 14 LIV Golf events; access to basketball fixtures, and more.

If you want to start watching DAZN, you'll need to subscribe separately within the app. Prices start from £14.99 a month for a DAZN Standard, rising to £24.99 per month for DAZN Ultimate.

There are several additional options, like the NFL Game Pass, NHL.TV, National League TV, Rally TV, and Courtside 1891. Pay-Per-View (PPV) events are included within specific tiers, with DAZN Ultimate guaranteeing at least 12 PPV events per year.

Luciano Oliveira, Director of Product, Home & TV, EE, said: “We’re committed to offering EE TV customers access to an unmatched variety of the very best entertainment, and the arrival of DAZN adds a huge catalogue of premium sports content to our service. DAZN’s breadth of live sport, from boxing and MMA to top-flight football and golf, will be an exciting new addition for EE TV customers looking for world-class sports streaming in one place.”

DAZN bundles a slew of different sports into its Netflix-for-sports subscription, with optional extras like NFL Game Pass available too

DAZN CEO of Growth Markets, Pete Oliver, said: “We want to bring the very best sport content to as many fans as possible, wherever they are. Launching on EE TV expands our reach in the UK, putting DAZN into more living rooms and on more screens. It means EE TV customers can discover and enjoy an even broader range of world‑class sport, all through a premium viewing experience."

DAZN will be available on the EE TV Box Pro and EE TV Box Edge as an app, giving customers the flexibility to sign up and manage their subscription directly with DAZN.

EE TV Box Pro (pictured) is the flagship new hardware to accompany the all-new service, with space for 600-hours of recorded telly, the ability to record from 4x channels simultaneously, pause and rewind live television, and support for Dolby Atmos and 4K Ultra HD

EE TV is available in three flavours: a custom-designed remote control and app for the Apple TV 4K streaming box; an EE TV Box Pro box designed by the mobile operator that can pause and rewind live television and boasts enough space to store 600 hours of telly; the EE TV Box Mini, which is compatible with 4K Ultra HD but doesn't have a built-in hard-drive to record shows.

Multi-room viewing comes as standard with all EE TV bundles. That's a clear differentiator between the phone operator's solution and Sky TV, which charges £12 per month for its Whole Home add-on to watch live and on-demand shows in multiple rooms.

EE says its compact EE TV Box Mini is the best solution to watch live and on-demand content in bedrooms, kitchens, playrooms, and other TVs dotted around the home.

Like Sky Stream and Sky Glass, not to mention Virgin Media's Stream box, EE will let you switch between the bundle of channels available on your box every month. That means you won't be locked into the same subscription for two years. It also means you can unlock Sky Cinema channels during the summer blockbuster season, before switching to Sky Sports when the Premier League restarts.
