Want to watch your favourite Roku apps on the biggest screen possible?
Aurzen has launched a new projector with all of the smarts found inside a Roku Smart TV built-in. Dubbed the D1R Cube, this is the first projector to be powered by the Roku software, the top streaming platform in the United States, Canada, and Mexico based on hours streamed.
Starting from $169.99 (£125, converted), this first-of-its-kind projector costs a fraction of what you'd pay for competing smart projectors from brands like Anker or Xgimi. It's available to buy from Amazon in the United States. Want to buy one in the UK? Aurzen's online store still has some stock available.
Upgrade to the world's first projector powered by Roku
There's no shortage of projectors powered by Google TV, but Aurzen is the first to launch a smart projector that's fuelled by the same RokuOS found on its popular Smart TVs and Streaming Stick hardware. That means you'll enjoy access to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and over 500 other popular streamers out-of-the-box
However, this online store doesn't have the same discount available as Amazon US, so you'll need to pay £250 for the same projector. For that, you'll take delivery of the D1R Cube projector, a remote control, and a power cable.
With the D1R Cube switched on, there should be no difference in the selection of apps and functionality between this low-cost projector and a Smart TV or Streaming Stick powered by Roku

Unlike some Google TV-powered projectors, which often need an extra dongles — like a Fire TV Stick, or one of the new Roku Streaming Sticks — to add support for Netflix, this one gives you instant access to all the biggest streaming services.
As well as Netflix, you'll be able to watch YouTube, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, Disney+, Amazon Prime, and more than 500 free live channels through Roku's platform. Everything's ready to stream without plugging in any extra devices.
Despite a competitive market of affordable smart projectors, this is the first to ditch Google TV in favour of rival Roku

You'll even unlock access to the new Roku-owned streamer, dubbed Howdy.
The D1R Cube delivers Full HD 1080p visuals and can handle 4K content, but it won't be projected at the full Ultra HD resolution. With 330 ANSI lumens, you'll want to use it in darker rooms or wait until evening for outdoor film nights, as it's not the brightest.
Setup promises to be simple, thanks to the automatic focus and keystone correction. The projector adjusts itself to give you a properly aligned picture up to 150 inches across.
The projector packs in 10-watt Dolby-certified speakers on both sides, though you can connect wireless headphones or bigger speakers via Bluetooth 5.2.
Apple fans will love the AirPlay support to beam video content, gameplay, and photos directly from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Voice control works via Alexa and Google Assistant. You can even use Roku's mobile app as a remote with voice commands.
For casual viewing in bedrooms or taking film nights outdoors, the D1R Cube hits the sweet spot. Just remember you'll need mains power and a properly dark environment for the best picture quality.
