Beijing is hosting the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games, marking the first global championship dedicated entirely to humanoid robotic competitors.

The groundbreaking event commenced yesterday with an opening ceremony at the National Speed Skating Oval, where mechanical athletes demonstrated their abilities in various sporting disciplines including sprinting, football and boxing.

This unprecedented competition represents a significant milestone in robotics, bringing together advanced humanoid machines from across the globe to showcase their capabilities in both athletic and practical challenges.

The three-day tournament, which continues through Sunday, aims to highlight recent advances in robotic intelligence and movement coordination.
