Aryna Sabalenka almost caused Carlos Alcaraz to leave The Today Show set after an embarrassing blunder.
Both Alcaraz and Sabalenka are world No1’s, and both completed dominant US Open victories over the weekend in Flushing Meadows.
The pair joined together to celebrate their wins before the blunder changed the tone of the meeting.
Sablenka was describing her love of making social media videos when she said: “By the way, I had a TikTok to do with Jann… er Jann."

The world No1 almost calling Alcaraz by he name of his rival, Jannik Sinner, stirred the presenters in the studio, who all yelled “woah, woah, woah.”
Alcaraz took the mistake in his stride, with the tennis star pretending to get up and walk out of the studio following the mistake.
Sabalenka was left mortified by her error as she placed her hand on the Spaniard’s arm to offer her apologies: “Carlos, man, I'm so sorry. Okay, never mind.
"This is the worst failure I've had in my life."
She added: “Can we cut this...?”
Instead of being cut, however, the footage has gone viral on social media.

Alcaraz played off the mistake, laughing and saying, “ It’s nine in the morning, don’t worry.”
Despite the blunder the pair did make the TikTok video together, with the video captioned: "Birthday twin and @usopen trophy twin, May 5th must be a really lucky birthday to have…" making light of the fact that the pair both share a birthday."

In the interview, Alcaraz spoke highly of Sinner and the rivalry that is growing between the pair, with the duo competing in the last three Grand Slam finals.
"I think we push each other to the limit every time and my practices is just focused to see how I could be better just to beat Jannik," he said.
The pair did end up making their TikTok together

"That rivalry is special, splitting the Grand Slams, fighting for the great things, and then seeing that thanks to him I’m just a better player.
"I think the rivalry is great for that."
