The duo are gearing up to lead their team for potentially the last time

Patrick Mahomes has said he wouldn’t know if it was his last ride with legendary team-mate Travis Kelce.

Mahomes and Kelce have enjoyed a historic partnership since becoming team-mates back in 2018, and the Chiefs starting quarterback was recently asked if 2025 would be the final ride for his Hall of Fame tight end.

"If it's the last ride, you would never know," Mahomes replied.

"The way he's talking about football, the way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year.

“He doesn't seem like a guy that, it's his last ride or he's tired of the job. He's in here, he's working. I know his body feels good. I think it feels better than even last year before going into last season.

"I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year."

The extra motivation would certainly make sense when you consider the way the Chiefs' season ended.

The team made it to the Super Bowl, to play their worst game of the year and lose to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Throughout the regular season, Kelce did see a dip in form from previous years.

His 823 receiving yards and three touchdown passes in the regular season were his lowest since his rookie season back in 2013.
