Tottenham Hotspur have ended their 17-year trophy drought with a historic Europa League victory over Manchester United.
Ange Postecoglou's side claimed the title with a 1-0 win at Estadio San Mames in Bilbao on Wednesday evening.
The triumph represents Spurs' first piece of silverware since 2008, in what was described as a "winner-takes-all contest" between two Premier League sides who had both failed to secure Champions League qualification through their domestic campaigns.
Brennan Johnson proved to be the match-winner for Tottenham, scoring the solitary goal that separated the sides in Bilbao.

The Welsh forward's strike, however, came with "a huge helping hand" from Manchester United's Luke Shaw and goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to reports.
The second half was a tense affair with neither team able to find the net again, but Johnson's goal proved enough as Spurs held firm to secure the victory.
When the final whistle blew, the white half of the stadium erupted in celebration.
In the aftermath of Tottenham's triumph, Manchester United legend Roy Keane was quick to aim a dig at Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal.
"Spurs have won more than Arsenal this season," Keane said on CBS' coverage of the tournament final.

The pundit suggested that the long-running "Spursy" tag, which has been used to describe the club's inability to deliver in big moments, should now be consigned to history.
"They certainly were not Spursy. They defended really well, their attacking play wasn't great but it doesn't really matter," Keane added.
Keane's comments highlight the contrast between the two north London rivals' fortunes this season.

While Tottenham have secured European silverware, Arsenal are set to finish as runners-up in the Premier League for another year.
Mikel Arteta's side made it to the Champions League semi-finals but were eliminated after losing both legs to Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal have not won a trophy since their FA Cup triumph in 2020, which came early in Arteta's tenure at the Emirates.
The former United captain was keen to emphasise the significance of Tottenham's achievement and what it means for the club's future.

"For all the critics over the past few years, we've said they've got a lovely stadium but it's all about winning trophies," Keane remarked.
"Now they can get their hands on that trophy tonight and really enjoy it.
"When the players come back for pre-season they knew they're in the Champions League and the knock-on effect for the club is fantastic."
