Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou came into the Europa League final under immense pressure after a disappointing campaign in the Premier League that has seen them lost 21 matches out of 37.
But that form went out the window in Bilbao with Spurs beating Manchester United 1-0 to win the Europa League.
That has seen Tottenham end a lengthy wait of 17 years for a trophy - the last being 2008 when they beat Chelsea in the League Cup final.
It means that Postecoglou will go down in history as a European trophy-winning manager.

Nevertheless, even victory in the Europa League will not stave off the sack for the Australian coach.
According to BBC Sport, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has already made up his mind on Postecoglou and is not ready to change it even after the club won silverware.
It is further reported that United actually presented the blueprint for why it is imperative to stick to your guns after they decided against sacking Erik ten Hag last season.
The Dutchman had overseen a disastrous campaign for the Red Devils but beat Manchester City to win the FA Cup, which saw him earn a contract extension.
Just a few months into the season and that decision turned out to be a costly one, as club co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe axed Ten Hag and brought in Ruben Amorim, which has hardly worked out in their favour either.

Tottenham will be allowed to celebrate the trophy between the player and manager before Levy will deliver the brutal news.
But no matter what, Postecoglou will be able to walk away with his head held high having brought immense joy to Tottenham fans, who would have likely preferred winning a trophy over battling for a top-five position.
Spurs have already started their search for successors with Brentford boss Thomas Frank and Fulham coach Marco Silva.

GB News understands that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is the top target, even before their incredible success in the FA Cup where the Eagles beat City to claim glory.
Tottenham's own success came against a poor United team and a scruffy goal courtesy of Brennan Johnson.
The Welshman's effort in the 42nd minute hit Luke Shaw before bobbling over the line with Andre Onana stretching.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Postecoglou said: "I’m still taking it all in. I know what it means for this football club. The longer it goes, the harder it is to break that cycle.

"I could sense the nerves in everyone at the club and until you take that monkey off your back you never understand what it feels like. We have a young group and I hope by tasting this, the players feel different about themselves and what it means to them is unbelievable.
“I’ve always felt knockout football is different to league football and when you’re in that situation it comes down to good organisation, having a real gameplan and moments and you can minimise moments by having a strong foundation.
“I felt we were going to be really hard to break down. We could’ve been better in transitions but I felt comfortable that if we got ahead we could deal with most of what Manchester United would throw at us."
