News of the Spaniard's imminent departure broke on Monday

Pep Guardiola is preparing for life after Manchester City by targeting a stunning £13.5million mansion in Barcelona following his shock decision to leave the club this summer.

The 55-year-old is set to bring the curtain down on one of the greatest managerial reigns in football history after 10 extraordinary years at the Etihad Stadium.

Guardiola's departure is expected to be confirmed this weekend, with supporters preparing to bid farewell to the man who transformed City into a dominant force both domestically and in Europe.

As revealed on Monday, discussions are already underway over a special tribute in his honour, with the club considering naming the newly expanded North Stand after their legendary manager.

Guardiola has repeatedly insisted that memories matter more than monuments.

"They don't have to do anything, honestly," he said recently. "The important thing in our lives is when you look back and say 'wow' and you can do it with a big smile."

While City contemplate how best to immortalise his legacy, Guardiola appears to be making plans of his own.

According to The Sun, the Catalan coach is keen to return to his homeland and has identified an ultra-luxurious property in Barcelona's exclusive Pedralbes district.

The spectacular new-build home reportedly includes panoramic sea views, a private swimming pool, a fully equipped gym and a jacuzzi.

The property is said to be located just a short distance from the family home he previously shared with his estranged wife, Cristina Serra.

Guardiola and Serra had been together for more than three decades and have three adult children.

Reports in Spain last year claimed the couple began divorce proceedings after Serra was unhappy with Guardiola's decision to extend his Manchester City contract until 2027.

However, more recent reports have suggested the pair are attempting to repair their relationship.

Spanish journalist Maria Lapiedra claimed Guardiola spent several days with Serra over Easter and that the couple continue to wear their wedding rings.

During his decade in Manchester, Guardiola has largely based himself at the CitySuites complex in the city centre, while Serra returned to Barcelona several years ago.

A move into international management has been widely discussed as Guardiola weighs up the next step in his career, with such a role potentially allowing him to spend far more time in Spain.

Guardiola leaves City as the most successful manager in the club's history.

Since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2016, he has won 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

City are planning an open-top bus parade on Monday to celebrate his achievements, with thousands expected to line the streets of Manchester.

The club are due to face Bournemouth and Aston Villa in their final two Premier League fixtures.
