Oldham Athletic striker Kian Harratt has broken his silence after footage emerged showing him throwing a chair that struck a woman during a poolside brawl in Ibiza.
The 23-year-old footballer claimed he "accidentally hit" the woman whilst defending his 18-year-old friend who was allegedly attacked.
In a lengthy TikTok post, Harratt insisted he was responding to a chair being "lobbed towards" him during the fracas at the Marco Polo Hotel in San Antonio.
He said he felt "terrible" and was "very apologetic" about the incident, which left the woman collapsed on the ground holding her face.

Despite admitting he felt "terrible", Harratt controversially claimed the woman "went down a bit easy" after being struck.
The footballer defended his actions, stating: "I'd have felt even worse if we left my mate to get badly beaten up while he's trying to enjoy his holiday."

According to Harratt's account, tensions escalated after his friend splashed a "6'6 bully" who was "built like a brick" and had been making couples at the pool uncomfortable.
He shared footage on TikTok appearing to show his friend being punched in the face and then kicked whilst on the ground.
Brandon Watkins from Nuneaton, who was involved in the confrontation, offered a conflicting account on Facebook.
He claimed Harratt's group arrived at the hotel "being nobs around the pool splashing people throwing balls at women" before one asked "what are you looking at".
Watkins wrote that he "dropped" the aggressor, prompting the group to "start throwing chairs because they couldn't fight".
He added: "Everyone sat around the pool after was coming up to us shaking our hands and buying us drinks because the lads were b******s!"
The incident occurred just three weeks after Harratt scored the winning goal in Oldham's 3-2 Wembley victory over Southend United.

This is not Harratt's first controversy. Last year, whilst on loan at Fleetwood Town, he was fined £1,153 after being convicted of entering land as a trespasser at night with poaching equipment in North Yorkshire.
He had previously been convicted of poaching at an East Yorkshire farm in 2022, receiving an £830 fine.
The striker was also banned from football for four months during the 2023/24 season after placing 484 bets on matches over three years, resulting in a £3,200 fine.
