The Portuguese FA have released a statement following the tragic death of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in a car crash.
The 28-year-old winger was involved in a fatal accident on the A52 motorway, close to Palacios de Sanabria in the Zamora province of Spain.
This comes just two weeks after the Liverpool star tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart, Rute Cardoso.
The death has sent shockwaves through the footballing world, with the Portuguese FA issuing a statement.
It read: “The Portuguese Football Federation expresses its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Diogo and André Silva, as well as to Liverpool FC and FC Penafiel, the clubs where the players played respectively.

"The Portuguese Football Federation have already asked Uefa for a minute's silence this Thursday, before our team's match against Spain in the Women's European Championship.
"We have lost two champions. The passing of Diogo and André Silva represents an irreparable loss for Portuguese football and we will do everything we can to honour their legacy every day.”
The Liverpool star had only married his long-term partner two weeks before his death, with his last post on social media coming less than 24 hours before the accident.

Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro has also reacted.
Writing on X, he said: "The news of the death of Diogo Jota, an athlete who greatly honored Portugal's name, and his brother is unexpected and tragic.
"I extend my deepest condolences to their family. It is a sad day for football and for national and international sports."
