The 28-year-old Portuguese winger was involved in a fatal accident on the A52 motorway near Palacios de Sanabria in the province of Zamora.

Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain limited, with local authorities yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
The Portuguese international was travelling with his brother Andre, who also died in the accident.
Their vehicle is thought to have left the carriageway, resulting in the fatal crash that claimed the pair's lives.
Local emergency services attended the scene on the A52.
The accident has occurred during what should have been a celebratory period for the footballer, who had recently tied the knot with his long-term partner.
Jota had married his partner Rute Cardoso just two weeks ago, marking what should have been one of the happiest moments in his personal life.
The couple share three children together, making the tragedy all the more devastating for the family.
The footballer's career had flourished since his move to Anfield in 2020, when Liverpool paid Wolves £41million for his services.

He established himself as a crucial attacking option for the Reds, operating primarily on the left flank.

He also won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup during his time with the Merseyside giants.
