Dean Henderson emerged as the Palace hero, with the goalkeeper denying both Mac Allister and Elliot to ensure his side reign supreme.
Slot, speaking to TNT Sports, has admitted to 'mixed feelings' following the match.
And the Dutchman complained about his side's defending, admitting they're conceding more despite looking strong in attack.
Slot said: "It’s a bit mixed feelings.
"If you look at our attacking play against a team that is so compact, it might be a bit better than last season.
"We could only scored one against Palace last season, now we scored two. We created more chances against a team that is so compact.
"But on the other hand, we conceded two goals which we did against [Athletic Club]. And we conceded a couple more against Milan. That is something we need to do better.
"It was a good team goal the first one, that is one of the examples where we are more creative, the combinations look sometimes sharper than last season.

|Arne Slot believes Liverpool are attacking well but paid the price at the back as they lost the Community Shield to Crystal Palace
"Last season, it was about keeping a clean sheet and attack as much as we could, and then create a few chances. Now we are able to create more.
"But we are conceding more at the moment as well. And if you want to compete to win the league, one of the main things is not conceding chances, let alone goals.
"I don’t think we conceded a lot today but too much to win the game."
Meanwhile, Palace boss Oliver Glasner has admitted he wants his side to make 'one or two' more signings before the transfer window shuts.
Reacting to the result, he stated: "I'm very happy with the squad because of course they won the trophy.
"But I don't want to complain about plenty of games, because you see that as a reward.
"If we don't win the FA Cup, then we don't talk about European football. But we want to win something, we want to play European football. We will be ready for it.
"But of course, if somebody needs a break - such as Daichi Kamada [who was injured] today and maybe we will miss him at Chelsea - and we need just maybe adding one or two players.
