Harry Kane left Tottenham on a quest to win trophies and now Spurs have finally landed one

Harry Kane did not take long to react to Tottenham's victory in the Europa League final after watching closely along in Germany.

Spurs beat Manchester United 1-0 in the final after Brennan Johnson's scruffy goal minutes before half-time.

The Red Devils simply could not muster any real quality in the final third to test Tottenham's defence, who held resolute to the end.

It means the north London side have ended their 17-year long wait for silverware, having last tasted glory in 2008 when they won the League Cup against Chelsea.

During that 17-year spell saw club legend Kane come up through the ranks before becoming the club's highest-ever goalscorer, who scored 280 goals for the club between 2011 and 2023.

After years of being the nearly men, the England international left his boyhood club for Bayern Munich to finally end his long wait for a trophy.

But the former Tottenham captain remains a big fan of Spurs and it was no surprise to see him keeping tabs on his old side as they battled United in the final.

And as new skipper Heung-min Son lifted the Europa League trophy, he congratulated his old team-mates on social media.

He posted a picture of Tottenham's celebrations on his Instagram story with the caption: "Congratulations."

Kane only ended his own trophy hoodoo this season, too, as Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga.
