The striker has been trying to force a move to the Premier League champions

Alexander Isak has been told he can “never play for Newcastle again” as he continues to force a move away from the Magpies.

The 25-year-old has moved out of his Newcastle home and is said to consider his career with the Magpies over as he tries to move to Premier League champions Liverpool.

The Reds had put in a bid for £110million, but it was rejected by Newcastle, who are adamant the striker is not being sold.

Alexander Isak is going to drastic measures to force a move

He told GB News: “There’s no way he can come back to training and just apologise. To win back the fans, he’d have to win the Premier League and score the winning goal.

“I think you’ve got to let him go—get the money in, give it to the manager, and let him buy the players he wants,” he told GB News.

Butt, speaking on behalf of BetMGM, was also disappointed to see the way the Swede has turned on the club.

He said: “I think it’s sad. After the season they had last year and the season he had.

“Everyone idolised him, he had an unbelievable season, played with a smile on his face—reminded me of Dwight Yorke—always scoring goals, always one of the best players on the pitch, always smiling. The fans loved him.

“But he’s just done a massive U-turn. I’m surprised, because I think he’s been badly advised; he doesn’t come across as that kind of person.

"But when agents get involved in a big transfer with massive finances, people are told to behave a certain way to force a move.

"I think that’s what’s happened, and I think he’s gone about it totally wrong."

Isak did not travel with the club for the pre-season tour of Asia with a “minor thigh injury,” but the 25-year-old is going to further drastic lengths to force a move.

He has been training alone since not attending the tour, with Newcastle enforcing disciplinary action on the striker and stopping him from attending a friend's and family day due to his desire to leave the club.

If Newcastle is going to let Isak leave, then Butt has a few ideas for who the Toon could bring in to replace him.

He said: “They might go for Ollie Watkins or Rasmus Hojlund, someone proven in the Premier League. But I think they’re more likely to go outside the Premier League and find a hidden gem.”
