The Premier League will come to a close tonight with Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall all in action

The Premier League 2025 will draw to a close at the O2 Arena in London tonight with the chance at glory on offer.

Luke Littler is the roaring favourite to defend his crown, having won the Premier League last year in his debut appearance, while also sweeping home a ton of records this year.

That includes the most nightly wins with six and the most points of all time with 45, beating the old record by five points.

It has seen the 18-year-old world champion comfortably sit atop the table - but coming top does not guarantee you silverware, or a jaw-dropping amount in prize money, and he must now face the play-offs with the other three players to finish in the top-four.

With 2024 world champion Luke Humphries finishing second and Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price finishing third and fourth respectively, the play-offs have been decided.

Littler will take on Price while Humphries will face Aspinall, as Michael van Gerwen missed out on the play-offs for only the second time in his career.

Rob Cross, Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting also failed to finish in the top four, meaning they will spend Premier League finals night watching at home.

Thank you and good night

What an evening of darts that was, dropping from drama right from the first dart. For Humphries, it was sheer jubilation as he finally landed the one title that has eluded him.

For Littler, well... he will be back. The 18-year-old certainly has time on his side! You get the feel that there are many more finals between these two to come.

Thank you from GB News for tagging along with us for that epic finale. Good night all!

'I will take a break'

Luke Littler speaking to Sky Sports: "No one likes losing but I am fine. I am glad to say it's over as it has been a tough 17 weeks.

"I will be back next year.

"I have set many records and I don't think they will be broken. I am going to try and break my own records next season.

"I will have a little break now."

'I love Littler to bits'

Humphries continued: "I love Luke to bits. He is one of my best mates on tour and he is so good.

"He wasn't at his best tonight, neither was I. I thought the game was going to go away from me at 3-0 down.

"He is a great player, a great lad, and I will get in early before he trounces everyone."

'That means the world to me'

Luke Humphries, speaking to Sky Sports: "Honestly, that one means the world to me. It's the one I was missing. I said in all my pre-match build- up the last few days that it was the one I wanted.

"I've done it now. If I don't win another title I will happy, because I've won the three hardest ones now."

LUKE HUMPHRIES IS THE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPION

Littler cannot afford to lose any more legs, this is now or never. He needs three legs in a row.

Nerves from the teenager, Humphries goes ahead and needs 76 to become Premier League champion.

Tops! He misses!

But Littler misses too! To win the Premier League... double-10... HE HAS DONE IT!

Luke Humphries is your 2025 Premier League champion!

What a turnaround

Wow, what a final! When Littler raced into a three-leg lead, it only looked like one winner.

But Humphries did not stifle and managed a remarkable comeback as the two Lukes showed the world why they are the best players in the world.

And finally the world No. 1 has a Premier League title to his name. It is the one he really wanted, and he's done it after two pulsating matches on Thursday night.

Not only does he take home the Premier League trophy, he also has bagged an impressive amount in prize money too.

Littler 8-10 Humphries

This might be Littler's moment, Humphries has the throw but it is a slow start from Cool Hand.

But Humphries is back with a 180 and needs 124. Not this time, but he has another shot.
Littler leaves himself 170 as Humphries needs 32... he's missed! But Littler can't take the Big Fish.

Humphries is one away!

Littler 8-9 Humphries

Littler responds with a 180 off the bat. Humphries sees a dart drop out of the board. Littler cannot let Humphries break his throw.

The world champ also needs to break his opponent's throw soon - or he will lose this final.

He takes double-10, game on.

Littler 7-9 Humphries

Humphries teases us with the Big Fish. He hits two treble-20s but opts against the bullseye with another three darts.

Boos from the crowd but this is important. He leaves 32... he misses! The crowd cheer that one.

But he's back and takes the double-4. He has the last laugh.

LIttler 7-8 Humphries

The averages are in the high 130s since the break, this is utterly insane darts from the two.

My laptop is about to blow up just trying to keep up with these two. Littler holds his throw.

Littler 6-8 Humphries

It is treble-20 after treble-20 after treble-20... the pace is electric, if anything it has picked up after the break.

More 180s from the two but Humphries holds his throw, utter focus.

Littler 6-7 Humphries

Littler is on the pounce, though, a majestic 180 as he puts on that moody face that let's you know he's in the zone.

He flies through the leg and reduces the deficit with Humphries on 213.

Littler 5-7 Humphries

Now he's flowing, Humphries straight in with another 180. His second of the match before hitting a 140.

Suddenly it's Littler under pressure, as Humphries leaves himself 36.

And he takes it! What is happening.

Littler 5-6 Humphries

You feel like the break has benefitted both players here. Take a breather, have a glass of water.

The high scores are back, the two Lukes trade 180s and Humphries breaks Littler's throw with an 11-darter. He leads for the first time.

Littler 5-5 Humphries

This has been as much a mental battle as it has been a darting one, Littler misses double-15 and Humphries needs double-18.

First dart... no. Second dart... oh dear. Third dart, there it is. We are level at the break, what a rollercoaster.

Littler 5-4 Humphries

Frustration from Humphries at something bothering him, from the crowd maybe? He takes a 60. Not what you need.

Littler takes a bit of a lead in this leg and looks good to go three ahead again after all that fine work from Humphries.

Cool Hand needs the Big Fish... Can he? So close! Needed bullseye but missed it.

Littler surely, missed! And Humphries returns, double-eight and he has the darts.

Littler 5-3 Humphries

Humphries has the throw, he cannot afford to let many of them slip through, and Littler looks like he is about to do just that with an incredible 180.

No dramas for the world champion, double-tops and he finds himself back in front with two legs after an 11-darter.

Littler 4-3 Humphries

Littler has not stopped his big scoring, though, and he whacks in a 140 to leave himself with 110.

He misses double-tops and Humphries has a chance... no. Littler returns and he's got it. Back in the lead.

Littler 3-3 Humphries

Humphries has the darts and takes out a couple of 100+ scores to put himself within touching distance of a leveller.

He needs 130 - and he gets it! He's back, Wayne Mardle insists he needed that. He did. It's 3-3!

Littler 3-2 Humphries

This match is going by at an astonishing pace - but we all knew it would. Littler gives his opponent no time to breathe but Humphries appears to be a little rushed so far.

Can we all take a breather please?!

Littler needs 120 and Humphries has a chance here... no! Big dart missed for a 79-checkout.

But Littler misses too! And now Humphries busts! What is happening here. Littler... in the madhouse. Still we go on!

Humphries finally takes the leg - settle down lads.

Littler 3-1 Humphries

Humphries all over the place here, he misses any treble on his second and third visit.

He's fortunate Littler hasn't been at it this leg, either, but not for long as he replies with a maximum.
The pressure is on Humphries now, who has 66 and he needs to take it. And he does! Cool hands from Cool Hand. He's off the mark.

Littler 3-0 Humphries

Humphries up against it now, two legs down and without the throw.

He leaves himself 25 but he doesn't even get a chance, Littler whacks in 87 to go into a three-leg lead.

Littler 2-0 Humphries

Humphries is back, the nerves are off and he flies through the leg to leave himself 40.

Littler needed the Big Fish but missed his first dart and the two trade missed darts at the double.

Massive chance for Humphries to level and he blows it. Littler leaves himself double-10. He doesn't miss, he never does.

Littler 1-0 Humphries

What a start! Littler straight in with the 180. Humphries...hits a single-one with his first dart.

It's a torrid start for the world No. 1, who finds himself on 333 as Littler looks for a finish.

Littler takes the first leg with ease, remember it is first to 11 here not 10.

Walk-outs complete

For the final time tonight, the crowd are treated to some Pitbull and Kaiser Chiefs. Bit of a clash of styles there...

Get yourself comfortable for this one, we are in for a classic.

PDC rules mean Littler won't get one over Humphries tonight

Luke Littler has surged from complete obscurity to second place in the world darts rankings since bursting onto the scene as a 16-year-old.

The teenager went from unknown to household name after reaching the World Darts Championship final in 2024, where the £200,000 he earned as runner-up behind Luke Humphries launched him straight into the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit.

A succession of tournament victories followed, propelling Littler to second place in rapid fashion. However, a substantial £574,000 gap still separates him from world number one Humphries in their battle for supremacy.

Despite the lucrative nature of the Premier League Darts, with its £275,000 winner's prize making it one of the most rewarding events on the darts calendar, victory would not assist Littler's ranking ambitions.

Under PDC rules, the Premier League is not classified as a ranking tournament, meaning prize money does not count towards the Order of Merit.

Humphries sends out a warning but Littler holds advantage

Humphries is desperate to win a first Premier League title - but Littler has won the board and will throw first.

In a match between two titans of the sport, the finest of margins can make all the difference.

“This is the big title missing from my CV, so I really want to go and lift that trophy now,” Humphries told PDCs website.

“I think this is one of the toughest tournaments to win, and if I can go all the way, it would mean so much to me."

Littler vs Humphries

Well, who could have predicted. It all comes down to the two best players in the world going head to head for the Premier League title.

The two Lukes are truly dominating the sport at the moment, and this looks like a rivalry that will go back and forth for many years to come.

It is a repeat of last year's final, too. Littler triumphed on that occasion, winning his maiden Premier League title in the process.

Will Humphries exact revenge or will Littler defend his crown?

Humphries wins!

Humphries has the darts, looks confident and is roaring ahead in the averages on 105 compared to Aspinall on 102.

He finds himself on 87 as Aspinall can only manage to get his score down to 273.

Humphries doesn't mess about, treble-17, double-19, bosh. What a semi-final, brilliant from the gritty Aspinall but it is an all-Luke final.

Humphries 9-7 Aspinall

Humphries is on 126, Aspinall is just losing momentum you feel at a critical time on 199.

A 59 leaves him on 140 but some awry darts gives him just 80 left.

Humphries can take a two-leg lead on 25... he's messed it up. Jeers from the crowd as Aspinall has another crack.

Double-tops...can you believe it! It's bounced out! Humphries takes the leg! He's one away.

Humphries 8-7 Aspinall

Aspinall follows it up with a brilliant maximum, both players are at the top of their game.

Humphries leaves Aspinall 129 - dangerous play. And he needs a bullseye again! Just misses!

The 2024 world champion takes the double-16 and lets out a wry smile, that was a gamble.

Humphries 7-7 Aspinall

Both players are on the Big Fish! Aspinall fluffs his chance. Can Humphries take it?

No! Just misses. Aspinall needs bullseye! He lands it! He goes crazy on stage. Level again. What a match!

Humphries 7-6 Aspinall

A majestic 180 from Humphries leaves him with 60 with Aspinall on 161. Single-20 and double-20, yep he takes it.

Cool Hand is in the lead again.

Humphries 6-6 Aspinall

Aspinall takes his time again as he needs 58, takes the single-18 and then double-20. We are level again. This might be going the distance, folks.

Humphries 6-5 Aspinall

Humphries has come flying out the traps after the break and takes no time at all to take the leg and the lead.

Humphries 5-5 Aspinall

Aspinall has the darts and finds himself on 64. He takes his time... single 16, single 16, double 16!

Unorthodox but he won't care. Nothing to separate these two players! The scores are all square as we go into the break.

Humphries 5-4 Aspinall

The ninth leg sees the high scores drift a little bit, no surprise really. It has been high-octane stuff.

Aspinall can break throw though with 82. Just misses the bullseye... needs double-tops. Misses!

Humphries can make him pay - and the world No. 1 does exactly that! Clinical.

Humphries 4-4 Aspinall

Both players averages are well into the 100s here after seven legs. It is a match of the highest quality.

Aspinall needs 127 to level the scores... and plays it safe with Humphries on 250.

Now he needs 32 - takes it. Scores are level again!

Humphries 4-3 Aspinall

Humphries kicks off the leg with a 180 and finds himself on 36 with Aspinall behind on 121.

One dart is all Cool Hand needs, he is back in front.

Humphries 3-3 Aspinall

Humphries needs to lock in here, he has lost three legs on the bounce after a rapid start.

Aspinall leaves himself 77 as Humphries narrowly misses bullseye to win the leg.

Up steps the Asp... hits the 18 and needs double-tops. Misses!

Humphries on double-8. Finds it! We are level again. Another epic encounter on our hands...

Humphries 2-3 Aspinall

Aspinall hits 180 to put himself on 89 as Humphries trails on 204. A real chance to take the lead here.

A couple of awry darts but he will return - though Humphries has put him under pressire with an incredible 168.

Aspinall with the sweat running down his neck lands the double-6 and he takes the lead.

Humphries 2-2 Aspinall

Nope! Humphries hits a one. Just the 140 to go... he apologises to the crowd with both players having a smile on their faces.

Aspinall returns and needs 107 and he takes it! Humphries cannot believe it after coming so close and shakes his hand.

Humphries 2-1 Aspinall

The Asp strikes back and has the darts! This has been a rapid match already...

But hold on, we might have a nine-darter on our hands...

Humphries 2-0 Aspinall

Humphries has some breathing space with another rapid leg, giving Aspinall no time to breathe.

Humphries 1-0 Aspinall

Humphries off to a flyer with a rapid first leg, he looks stony-faced and looks hellbent on meeting his namesake in the final tonight.

Semi-final number two on the way

Nathan Aspinall will face Luke Humphries next, and Cool Hand Luke holds the better record with 13 wins out of 22 meetings.

Humphries said: "I played really well at the Euro Tour last weekend so I got some good confidence out of it. I was pleased with the way I was playing.

"I've been practising and just preparing. I want to get myself into the best place to win so I'm ready because it is a big crowd out there."

'I can relax now'

Luke Littler speaking to Sky Sports: "When he hit the double five to go 6-4 up I took myself straight off stage, I needed to get myself up for it.

"The first five or six legs I was nervous and going into the break 6-4 down was not what I wanted. I knew, especially after last year, that I love coming on after a break so I relaxed myself and I got the job done.

"I stormed off stage but that was just in my own head. I just had to. I sat down and had a drink and cooled myself down and said 'you can do it'.

"I got the job done.

"I know I can relax now. I'll watch the first 10 legs of the other semi-final and then when they get to the break I'll get on the practice board."

Littler wins!

What an incredible comeback from Littler! Two 180s in a row and there's that roar! That was huge.

He needs 41 to get to the final - and he hits it! Pure emotion from the teenager after a fabulous fightback!

Price cannot believe it! He blew that but there was no stopping Littler when he gets in the zone.

He is into the final where he will face Luke Humphries or Nathan Aspinall as he looks to defend his crown. What. A. Contest.

Littler 9-7 Price

Price has the darts but Littler is in the mood now. He hits a 180 to put him on 86, Price cannot reply.

He's one away after double-16. What a turnaround!

Littler 8-7 Price

Littler takes his fourth leg out of the last five without showing an ounce of emotion. Price slips up and Littler punished him with a double-6.

The 18-year-old is in the lead.

Littler 7-7 Price

Littler shakes his head despite an admirable 96 start before hitting 100. Price is right with him, though, and this match is on a knife-edge.

Littler has 143 to take out... so close! He misses the double-16! But he's back as Price cannot take out 160 and he gets it.

Littler 6-7 Price

Poor start for Littler again as Price hits a maximum. Price needs 122 but his darts bounces out of the board!

Littler can't take the 136 and Price returns to the oche. Double-7... yep, he's got it. Back in front for the Welshman.

Littler 6-6 Price

Littler follows up that leg with a miserable 41 to give Price a sturdy advantage to put some numbers on the board.

Price gets himself down to double-10 to take the leg but he busts! Littler steps up and needs 80... and misses too! And Price fluffs it AGAIN!

You cannot do that at this level and Littler takes the leg - all square!

Littler 5-6 Price

Littler came out fired up after the break, nailing a maximum before leaving himself double-tops.

He takes it with no celebration, he is in the zone right now and he needs to be. Game on!

Littler 4-6 Price

Price is edging close to a huge victory here just before the break and roars in delight as he nails double-tops to restore the two-leg lead.

Littler is off the stage in a flash as Price flexes his guns and takes a swig of water as the classic darts music plays.

Littler might have finished top of the table in the Premier League but there is a very real chance he could be crashing out early here at the O2 Arena - Price looks in monstrous form.

Littler 4-5 Price

Littler reduces the deficit and boy did he need that. Some wayward finishing from both players at the end of the leg allowed the Nuke to steal in, despite missing six darts at double-tops.

Price will be kicking himself, he needed 60 but blew his chance. That was an opportunity to go three legs ahead.

Littler 3-5 Price

You guessed it, another break of throw. That is the fifth break of throw after seven legs, astonishing.

Price takes the fourth leg and has the darts... and this time he takes it! In a whirlwind leg, the Welshman has raced into a 5-3 lead.

Littler looks concerned, it is the first time in this match that one player has a two-leg cushion.

Littler 3-3 Price

Another break of throw and Littler levels the scores after Price misses the bullseye.

Littler needs 128... and takes it! It sends the crowd wild as the world champion points, and now he has the darts.

Littler 2-3 Price

Price takes the lead and has the darts to give Littler something to worry about.

However, it did not go all his way, the Iceman, who busted his darts to give Littler a chance to take the leg.

But the youngster needed 110 - hits the treble-19, then a single-13... double-20... no! He misses!

And Price nails the double-14!

Littler 2-2 Price

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a game on our hands. Price shows his clinical touch by hitting right back, just as Littler was telling the crowd to calm down.

Price hits the first 180 of the night to send him on his way, finishing with double-20 to take the leg.

Littler 2-1 Price

And there's the Littler we all know, a ruthless leg to take the lead as he nails a couple of 140s before taking the leg with double-tops.

Littler 1-1 Price

Littler strikes back! Double-10 is his best friend at the oche and he makes no mistake, taking the darts back off Price to level the scores.

That came off the back of scores of 140 and 134, the 18-year-old means business.

Littler 0-1 Price

First blood to Price! And listen to that roar! He takes the darts off Littler after a bit of a nervy opening from both players.

The Welshman landed a 70-checkout, fluffing his first dart before hitting treble-20 and then double-5.

Slight change of rules here compared to the other nights of Premier League action, which were settled by the first player to get to six legs.

That has been bumped up to 10 legs tonight, meaning both players will have to show a little more endurance.

Here we go!

Luke Littler and Gerwyn Price have made their way to the stage and the first match of the night is imminent here at the O2 Arena.

It is an absolute corker, too, with Littler the hot favourite coming up against his bogeyman Price - who has won six out of eight contests between them.

Some telling averages here

After 16 nights of Premier League action, it is no surprise to see Luke Littler running away at the top of the averages.

However, Nathan Aspinall sits bottom of the list despite making the top four while Gerwyn Price is also low down.

Rob Cross and Stephen Bunting might have to up their efforts on the doubles...

  • Luke Littler - 102.43
  • Luke Humphries - 99.67
  • Rob Cross - 98.18
  • Stephen Bunting - 97.48
  • Chris Dobey - 97.19
  • Gerwyn Price - 96.60
  • Michael van Gerwen - 96.07
  • Nathan Aspinall 95.70

The O2 Arena is filling up ahead of a huge night of darts

The fans are piling into the O2 Arena now, which was a sellout within moments tickets became available.

Darts is becoming an even bigger sport nowadays, all down to the Littler effect.

The 18-year-old exploded onto the scene at the 2024 World Championship when, at the age of 16, he reached the final before being beaten by Humphries.

It has been an incredible couple of years for the teenager, who has since gone on to become the world champion - and rightly so.

How much prize money is on offer tonight?

Luke Littler defends his Premier League Darts title tonight at the O2 Arena in London, with £275,000 prize money at stake for the winner.

The 18-year-old teenage prodigy faces Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals as he attempts to retain the championship he won 12 months ago.

Littler clinched the Premier League Darts trophy last year after being selected as one of four wildcards following his surprising performance at the 2024 World Darts Championship.

In his debut campaign, he won four nights, defeated Michael Smith in the semi-finals and secured the title with an 11-7 victory over Luke Humphries.

The semi-final winner will face either Nathan Aspinall or Humphries in the final, battling for the Premier League trophy from the competition's £1 million total prize pot.

The runner-up will receive £125,000 for their efforts, while the losing semi-finalists will each take home £85,000.

The remaining four players in the eight-man league earned between £60,000 and £75,000, with Stephen Bunting taking home £60,000, Rob Cross £65,000, Chris Dobey £70,000 and Michael van Gerwen £75,000.

Littler and Humphries will throw first in their respective semi-finals as they finished first and second in the regular season standings.
