Britain's armed forces are set for an inflation-busting pay rise in a major military boost.
The salary bump is understood to be announced within the next few days while morale is beginning to look upward, a survey has shown.
"Our armed forces are the very best of Britain," a Government source told The Mirror.
"They’re being called upon more often as the world gets more dangerous and unstable, so it’s only right they get a pay rise that reflects that."
As a result of a series of pay rises to the troops, all ranks are paid in accordance with the living wage.
Latest data from the Armed Forces Continuous Attitude Survey revealed that 45 per cent of employees were satisfied with their service life overall, creeping up from 42 per cent in 2025.
Dissatisfaction with the rate of basic pay rose between 2021 and 2023 while the Tories kept watch over Britain's defence personnel.
The pay jump will be the third since Labour won power back in 2024.

On the survey, Labour’s Defence Secretary said: "Since day one, our Labour government has been on a mission to lift military morale, reversing a long-term Tory decline by improving the lives of our brave armed forces personnel and their families, in recognition of the extraordinary service they give to our nation.
"Satisfaction with service life collapsed to record lows under the Tories, who failed our forces with low pay, hollowed-out capabilities and the scandal of unfit military homes.
"They created a crisis in recruitment and retention just as the world was becoming more dangerous."
The Labour minister boasted the party's "record increase in defence investment enabling better pay, better conditions and better housing".

"This is the difference Labour in government can make: renewing our commitment to those who serve and making Britain safer: secure at home and strong abroad," he told The Mirror.
When finalised, the Government confirmed that the pay bump will be backdated to April 1 once the details are set in stone.
Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Louise Sandher-Jones confirmed the increase in a written question before MPs.
Liberal Democrat Cameron Thomas, the MP for Tewkesbury, asked when the salary figures would be announced, as well as ways to combat any delay impacting personnel.
Ms Sandher-Jones said the Armed Forces Pay Review Body had already submitted its report and recommendations, adding that it "will be confirmed as soon as possible".
However, the MP failed to outline a timeline for the upcoming changes.
Meanwhile, a Ministry of Defence spokesman said: "The Armed Forces' Pay Review Body (AFPRB) has submitted its report and recommendations.
"The details of this year’s pay award will be confirmed shortly, and any pay award will be backdated to the start of the Armed Forces pay year on April 1, 2026."
