Tyson Fury is planning to make his long-awaited return to the boxing ring in 2026, according to his promoter Frank Warren.
Warren, 73, revealed that he had spoken with the former world heavyweight champion last week, confirming Fury’s desire to fight again following his retirement earlier this year.
The Gypsy King stepped away from professional boxing in January after suffering consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, which ended his unbeaten record and saw him lose the unified heavyweight titles.
Despite those setbacks, Warren said Fury had told him “categorically” that he intends to compete again next year.

“We’ve spoken recently and Tyson wants to come back,” Warren said. “He’s still got that hunger and we’ll be sitting down to discuss what the comeback might look like.”
Fury, 37, would be returning to what Warren described as a “rejuvenated” heavyweight division, with several rising British contenders and new champions shaping the post-Usyk landscape.
While away from the sport, Fury has remained active with a string of media ventures.
He starred in a Netflix series At Home with the Furys and has reportedly been filming another documentary project.

Warren added that, despite not fighting this year, the Wythenshawe-born boxer has continued training and stayed in shape.
In July, Fury himself hinted at a comeback, admitting how much he missed competing. “I do miss it — every single day I wake up in the morning and miss it,” he said.
“I’ve been away seven months and missed it every day. I’m open to offers at the moment. Next year, the big GK is going to make a f*****g comeback.”
The heavyweight picture has evolved significantly since Fury last fought.

Usyk, who defeated him twice, has continued his dominance with another victory over British challenger Daniel Dubois.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Fabio Wardley has emerged as one of the division’s new stars, and 20-year-old prospect Moses Itauma strengthened his growing reputation with an emphatic win over Dillian Whyte in August.
Fury has acknowledged that re-entering such a competitive field will be a major challenge.

“I’m gonna be 37 in about three weeks, so I’m going to be the oldest swinger with all these young boys coming up — it’s going to be difficult,” he said earlier this year.
Despite that, one fight continues to capture the public imagination — a long-discussed clash with Anthony Joshua.
Warren admitted a bout between the two British heavyweights would still be “massive” even though both fighters are past their peaks.

“A Fury-Joshua fight would still break records,” Warren said.
“It’s one of the great heavyweight matchups that’s never happened — but it’s not too late.”
