England's cricket captain Harry Brook has revealed his engagement to partner Lucy Lyles through a social media announcement on Tuesday.
The Yorkshire batsman, who holds the position of second-best Test player globally, posted a photograph on Instagram featuring himself alongside his fiancée as she displayed her sparkling engagement ring.
The 28-year-old sportsman marked the announcement with minimal fanfare, adding only a ring emoji as the caption to accompany the image.
This milestone comes as Brook prepares for his duties as vice-captain in the forthcoming Ashes series against Australia, set to begin on 21 November in Perth.

The relationship between Brook and Lyles spans approximately five years, with her initial appearance on his social media dating back to 2020.
Lyles, who completed her studies at the University of Manchester, has become a familiar presence at cricket grounds worldwide, supporting Brook from the spectators' area.

Her dedication was particularly evident during Brook's remarkable achievement in the Indian Premier League in 2023, when he struck an unbeaten century from just 55 deliveries.
Following that innings, Brook acknowledged her presence, stating: "My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left. I knew this would happen - as soon as they left I will get some runs. I'm sure they'll all be very happy for me."
Brian Lara offered his congratulations to the newly engaged couple, writing on social media: "Congratulations my golfing partner!!!" accompanied by a clapping emoji.

If we don't feel you are the right person wherever you are batting - whether that's an opener or at number five - we'll end up bringing in someone we think can do the job better."
